I often wonder, "Who am I to write?" and "Are these words really my own or have I heard them before?" "I Too Am Chicken" briefly considers writing through the metaphor of flight. Like most chickens, my flights feel awkward, brief, and not entirely within my control. The poem, once it's out there, is not mine anymore, so my last act is to watch for the poem's effects.
