Thinking Of You

Joseph Mayo Wristen

a leaf falling through the air

from the time it leaves
the branch of the tree
to the time it touches
the ground I will
have thought of you
my love, a thousand times

my hand resting
against jagged rock
life’s nest nettled
above velvet clouds

shadow of softness your
mind touching
earth’s diverse reflection

whispered words of love

your image inherited
in my soul
unity of our
two hearts beating

hoping you can
feel the unalloyed
love I possess for you

from the time it leaves
the branch of the tree
to the time it touches
the ground I will
have thought of you
my love, a thousand times

a leaf falling through the air

Add Keyword Tags

Separate each tag with a space. You may add as many tags as you'd like to each poem.

What are tags?
Tags, sometimes called “folksonomies,” are words that describe or categorize a poem, like “20th century modernism” or “Italian sonnet”. Tags can help you find poems that have something in common, based on how other people classify them.
