Biography of Robert Mannyng

English monk Robert Mannyng is best known as the author of "Handlyng Synne," a poem of popular morality, and of the chronicle Story of England. Both works serve as excellent documents of the social attitudes and values of 14th-century England and are notable for their use of the colloquial English of the day.
