Dr. D. D. Perrin was a professor at the Department of Medical Chemistry at the John Curtin School of Medical Research at Australian National University, Canberra).
His limerick was composed sometime in the late 1950s for a competition in a scientific journal (which he won, receiving a cheque and a certificate).
